About Hoosier Pass
Hoosier Pass, located at 11,541 feet on the Continental Divide between Summit and Park counties, is an abandoned ski area that now serves primarily as a backcountry access point and high-altitude hiking destination. The pass itself is a significant waypoint along the Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail, offering stunning panoramic views of the Mosquito Range and South Park. While the resort infrastructure is no longer operational, the area remains popular with backcountry skiers and snowboarders seeking untracked powder and remote alpine terrain during winter months. Summer visitors use Hoosier Pass as a trailhead for ridge-line hiking, mountain biking, and access to several 13,000+ foot peaks in the surrounding Tenmile Range.
