About Frisco Nordic Center
Frisco Nordic Center is a premier cross-country skiing destination in Colorado's Summit County, offering 57 meticulously groomed trails spanning over 30 kilometers of terrain. Located at 9,363 feet elevation near the charming town of Frisco, the center caters to all skill levels with 19 easy trails perfect for beginners, 23 intermediate routes for developing skiers, and 15 advanced trails that challenge experienced nordic enthusiasts. The gentle 324-foot vertical and rolling terrain make it an ideal venue for families and those new to cross-country skiing, while the variety ensures seasoned skiers find engaging routes throughout the season.
The trail network showcases the natural beauty of the Colorado high country, with routes winding through pine forests and meadows with views toward the Continental Divide. Easy trails like those at the base provide quick access for casual visitors, while advanced skiers can tackle longer routes with more significant elevation changes, with some trails climbing to 2,853 feet elevation. All trails benefit from professional grooming for both classic and skate skiing techniques, and the relatively high base elevation ensures reliable snow conditions throughout winter.
Frisco Nordic Center serves as an accessible gateway to winter recreation for Denver-area visitors, situated just over an hour from the metro area via I-25 and I-70. The center operates seasonally from late November through early April, depending on snow conditions. Its proximity to other Summit County attractions, combined with reasonable trail fees and equipment rental options, makes it an excellent choice for multi-day winter getaways or day trips.
