Salem Hills

The Salem Hills are a modest mountain range located in central Oregon, situated just south of the state capital of Salem. This low-lying range is characterized by a series of rounded, forested hills and ridges, reaching elevations generally between 1,000 to 2,500 feet. The terrain is relatively gentle, with few dramatic peaks or steep slopes, making it an accessible outdoor destination for a variety of recreational activities. The hills are primarily covered in a mix of Douglas fir, western red cedar, and Oregon white oak forests, with some open meadows and rocky outcroppings scattered throughout.
