About Quilcene Range
The Quilcene Range is a rugged, heavily forested mountain range located in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. Characterized by steep, rocky terrain and numerous glaciated peaks, the range forms the eastern border of the Olympic National Park. The landscape is dominated by dense temperate rainforest, alpine meadows, and glacier-fed streams and lakes. Geologically, the range is part of the Pacific Border Ranges and was formed by the subduction of the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate under the North American plate.
