About Willamette Mission State Park

Willamette Mission State Park sits in Marion County, Oregon, roughly four miles north of Keizer along the eastern bank of the Willamette River, adjacent to the Wheatland Ferry crossing. The park preserves the site of an early Methodist mission, known as Willamette Station Site, Methodist Mission in Oregon, which is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.

Visitors come here primarily for the historic significance of the mission grounds rather than dramatic ruins. The setting is a river-flanked state park, and the Wheatland Ferry remains an active and evocative part of the experience. Those interested in Oregon's early settlement history will find the NRHP-listed site the central draw.
