Trego Hot Springs

Trego Hot Springs sits in the Black Rock Desert of Pershing County, Nevada, at the site of Trego — a former station along the Western Pacific Railroad. The railroad's construction in the early 1910s gave the location its current name, though the springs themselves had been known by several earlier names, including Kyles Hot Springs as far back as 1864, as well as Butte Spring and Butte Hot Spring.

Today visitors come for the geothermal springs rather than any substantial ghost-town remains. The Black Rock Desert setting is remote and stark, and travelers should be prepared for limited services and rough desert access roads that can become impassable in wet or winter conditions.
