About Thatcher
Thatcher is a historic unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, that no longer functions as an active settlement. It once occupied a crossroads position roughly three miles north of Forest Grove, at the junction of Hillside and Thatcher roads — a location that still defines the area today.
Visitors will find little in the way of obvious remains. The surrounding land falls under the Forest Grove Rural Fire Protection District, and the site reads more as quiet rural countryside than a preserved historic landmark. Those drawn to ghost towns should temper expectations: this is a place of atmosphere and geography rather than dramatic ruins.
