Strawberry

Strawberry is a ghost town in White Pine County, Nevada, situated along Nevada State Route 892. What sets it apart from the typical mining-era remnant is its agricultural past — the settlement was once home to a sprawling 12,000-tree orchard and large strawberry fields, giving the town its distinctive name.

A post office served the community from 1899 until 1938, after which the town's formal civic life faded. Today Strawberry functions primarily as a ranching settlement rather than a preserved historic site, so visitors should expect a working rural landscape rather than museum-quality ruins or interpretive markers.

Access via State Route 892 keeps the area reachable by road, making it a viable stop for curious travelers passing through the county. The best window to visit is summer and early fall, when Nevada's high-desert roads are most reliably passable.
