About Silver Creek
Silver Creek is a former mining town in Clear Creek County, Colorado, that has long since faded into ghost-town status. The mines that once drove activity here were situated upstream from where the townsite itself developed.
Visitors today should expect a rough approach — the town is reached only by unimproved road, with no maintained public access. Silver Creek never supported its own post office; residents collected mail through the nearby Lawson post office, a reminder of just how small and remote the community always was. Come prepared for a rugged, self-sufficient outing with modest historical remains rather than a developed heritage site.
