Santa Rita

Santa Rita is a ghost town in Grant County, New Mexico, roughly fifteen miles east of Silver City. It was home to the Chino copper mine, making it a notable industrial site in the region's history.

Visitors today will find a remnant landscape tied to that copper-mining past. As with many ghost towns, the physical remains are modest, and the experience is less about standing structures and more about the historical weight of the place and its setting in the New Mexico landscape.
