About Pyramid City
Pyramid City is a ghost town in Washoe County, Nevada, situated south of the town of Sutcliffe. The site went by more than one name over time — simply "Pyramid" among them — and visitors should be aware it is distinct from a separate place called Pyramid, Nevada, which lies north of Sutcliffe rather than south.
The settlement was not a single camp but two adjacent mining communities. The upper portion was known as Jonesville, while the lower section carried the Pyramid City name that stuck. Together they made up a modest but real presence in this part of Nevada during their active years.
Given the sparse documentation that survives, visitors today should expect little more than an open landscape with traces of a former community. No developed facilities or marked access routes are on record here. As with most remote Nevada ghost towns, a high-clearance vehicle, awareness of seasonal road conditions, and a realistic expectation of minimal visible remains will serve any traveler well.
