About Planet

Along the north bank of the Bill Williams River in La Paz County, Arizona, Planet once served as a recognized stopping point for travelers moving through the area. A post office operated here from 1902 to 1921, giving the settlement a degree of official standing before it eventually fell into abandonment. Today it qualifies as a ghost town.

The site now falls within the United States Bureau of Reclamation's Planet Ranch Conservation Area, which gives visitors a legitimate framework for exploration. Expect a remote riverside setting rather than preserved structures or developed facilities — this is a place for those drawn to history, quiet scenery, and the desert riparian environment of the Bill Williams River corridor.
