About Pecan Point
Pecan Point is a historic trading post and ghost town situated along the Red River of the South, straddling the border of McCurtain County, Oklahoma, and Red River County, Texas. Its position on the river made it a natural stopping point for early trade in the region.
Visitors today will find little in the way of standing structures — as with most ghost towns of this character, the site is valued more for its historical atmosphere and riverside setting than for preserved buildings. Come with modest expectations and an interest in early frontier commerce.
