About Oro Fino

Oro Fino is a ghost town in unincorporated Siskiyou County, California, with roots in the gold mining activity of the 1850s. Situated at an elevation of 2,871 feet, it developed near what is now Fort Jones, and today all Oro Fino addresses fall within that community.

Visitors should expect very little on the ground. As a former mining settlement whose practical identity has been absorbed by Fort Jones, the site offers more historical curiosity than visible remains. It is the kind of place that rewards those interested in California's Gold Rush-era geography rather than those seeking dramatic ruins or developed access.
