About Orleans
Orleans was a short-lived community in Linn County, Oregon, situated along the Willamette River directly across from present-day Corvallis. Founded around 1850, it was wiped out entirely by the catastrophic flooding of 1862 and never rebuilt.
The one remnant a visitor can realistically seek out today is the Orleans cemetery, which survived the flood because it was positioned on higher ground near coordinates 44.5697°N, 123.1913°W. The townsite itself is otherwise gone.
