Numa

Numa is a ghost town in Grant County, Oklahoma, with roots in the late nineteenth century. It began as a farming community in what was originally designated "L" County within the Oklahoma Territory, founded in the wake of the Cherokee Strip Outlet land opening on September 16, 1893 — one of the largest land runs in American history.

Today Numa exists in name only, with little to greet visitors beyond open countryside. Those drawn to Oklahoma's land-run history may find the area worth a quiet detour, but there are no preserved structures or formal facilities to speak of.
