About Murphyville

Murphyville was a placer gold mining camp that existed briefly in 1891 along the east bank of the Colorado River in Arizona Territory, situated roughly 12 miles downstream from El Dorado Canyon in what is now Mohave County.

Given how short-lived the camp was, visitors today should expect little to nothing in the way of standing structures or formal remains. The draw is largely the remote riverside setting and the historical curiosity of knowing a small gold rush community once tried to take root here.
