Monohon

Monohon is a ghost town on the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish, in what is now the city of Sammamish, King County, Washington. Its roots trace back to an earlier settlement called Donnelly, founded by Simon Donnelly around a sawmill he established there. As the population spread and grew, residents living at a sufficient distance from Donnelly's core organized a distinct community of their own, incorporating it as Monohon in 1888. The town took its name from Martin Monohon, who had homesteaded 160 acres in the area.

Today the location falls near the intersection of East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 33rd Street. No significant physical remains are documented, and visitors will find a residential and parkway corridor rather than preserved historic structures. The site is worth a stop for those curious about the layered settlement history of the Lake Sammamish shoreline.
