Mineral Park mine

Tucked into the Cerbat Mountains about 14 miles northwest of Kingman, Arizona, Mineral Park is the site of a large open-pit copper mine that once anchored activity in this remote corner of Mohave County. The scale of the operation is still apparent in the landscape — the open pit itself dominates the terrain and gives the site its most striking visual character.

A 2013 resource assessment put the site's estimated reserves at roughly 389 million tons of ore, with a copper grade of 0.14% and approximately 31 million ounces of silver, underscoring just how significant a deposit lies beneath this desert setting.

Visitors today come primarily for the industrial history and the stark scenery rather than any developed amenities. Access is via unpaved roads typical of this part of Mohave County, and the surrounding desert terrain means summer heat can be genuinely dangerous. Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for a visit.
