About Millican
Millican is a small unincorporated community in Deschutes County, Oregon, sitting along U.S. Route 20 just east of Horse Ridge. At 4,304 feet above sea level and roughly 25 miles east of Bend, it falls within the Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area despite its remote feel.
Visitors expecting a bustling stop will find little here. As of early 2021 the population stood at around 150, and the community retains the quiet, sparse character of a place that time has largely passed by. There are no documented attractions or facilities to plan around — its appeal is the stark high-desert roadside character and the curiosity of a near-ghost community still clinging to existence on a major highway corridor.
