Louisville

Tucked into El Dorado Canyon near the Techatticup Mine in what was once New Mexico Territory's Eldorado Mining District, Louisville is today a ghost town that began as a mining camp. Its name is thought to derive from Nat S. Lewis, who served as both superintendent of the Techatticup Mine and camp doctor during the 1860s.

Visitors drawn to ghost towns and historic mining landscapes will find Louisville an evocative, if remote, destination in Clark County. As with most sites of this kind, expect remnants and atmosphere rather than restored structures or formal amenities.
