About Logan
Logan is a ghost town in Lincoln County, Nevada, tucked into the hills roughly 9.5 miles west of Hiko. Its brief life began in 1865 when ore was discovered in Silver Canyon, on the eastern flank of the Mount Irish Range, drawing prospectors and the makeshift infrastructure of a mining camp. The settlement never grew into anything permanent, and it faded as quickly as it appeared.
Visitors today will find little more than the remote high-desert landscape that swallowed the camp long ago. The area sits about 2.5 miles south of Mount Irish Peak, making it a destination primarily for those drawn to ghost town history and wide-open Nevada scenery. Access is rural and rugged, so a capable vehicle and advance preparation are advised. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable conditions; summer heat can be punishing and winter roads unreliable.
