About Lark

Tucked into the Oquirrh Mountains of southwest Salt Lake County, Lark is a ghost town that sits roughly four miles west of Herriman, Utah. Its existence traces directly to the copper mines that once operated in the surrounding hills — miners settled the area to be close to the work, and when those mines closed, the town followed them into abandonment.

Today Lark stands as a quiet remnant of that industrial past. Visitors drawn to ghost towns will find the setting defined by the rugged Oquirrh Mountain terrain, though the defunct mines and the community that served them are long gone. It's the kind of place that rewards curiosity and a camera rather than any formal amenity.
