About Kosmo
Kosmo is a ghost town in Box Elder County, Utah, with roots going back to 1901. It developed in two distinct sections, with the eastern portion established first to function as a rail spur off the First Transcontinental Railroad, giving local ranchers a connection to broader markets.
Visitors today find a quiet, sparse remnant of a once-functional rural settlement. As with most ghost towns of this scale, expect little in the way of standing structures — the draw is the historical atmosphere and the open Utah landscape rather than any dramatic ruins.
