About Kiz

Kiz is a ghost town sitting in Clark Valley, a dry stretch of eastern Carbon County, Utah. It existed as an agricultural community for roughly three and a half decades, from around 1906 until about 1940, before being abandoned. East Carbon is the closest inhabited town in the area today.

Visitors drawn to the site will find little more than the sparse, arid valley setting itself. The thin historical record for Kiz means expectations should be kept modest — this is a remote, sparsely populated corner of the county, and the remains, if any are visible at all, are minimal.
