About Hardin City
Hardin City is a ghost town in Humboldt County, Nevada, situated on the western slope of the Black Rock Range within the Black Rock Desert. It rose and fell within roughly a decade, thriving as a mining boom town from 1859 until around 1868.
Visitors today arrive at a remote desert site where the harsh environment and the passage of more than 150 years have left little behind. The Black Rock Desert setting is stark and expansive, making the location itself the main draw for those interested in history and wide-open scenery.
