About Gwillimsville

Gwillimsville is a ghost town in northern El Paso County, Colorado, situated at the head of Cherry Creek roughly six miles east of Monument. During its active years, residents made their livelihoods through dairy, ranching, and timber operations. A post office served the community from April 1878 until September 1890, after which the settlement faded from the map.

Little documented infrastructure survives from those years, and visitors today will find a quiet rural landscape rather than standing buildings or interpreted historic features. The site suits those drawn to Colorado history and photography more than structured recreation.
