About Griswell's Station

Along the Gila River in what is now Yuma County, Arizona, Griswell's Station once served as an operational stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route. It sat at a practical midpoint on that stretch of the line, positioned roughly 12 miles from Peterman's Station in one direction and about 15 miles from Flap Jack Ranch Station in the other.

Today the site qualifies as a ghost town, and visitors should arrive with modest expectations. No substantial built remains are documented, and the surrounding Gila River corridor is remote and largely undeveloped. The historical significance lies in its role within the broader stagecoach network rather than in any visible architecture on the ground.
