Grapetown

Tucked along South Grape Creek about 9.5 miles south of Fredericksburg, Grapetown is a small unincorporated community in Gillespie County, Texas, rooted in farming and ranching. The settlement grew up along the historic Pinta Trail and earned its place in regional memory as the location of the first annual Gillespie County Bundes Schützenfest, a significant community tradition. The former school building was recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1984 (Marker No. 10048), offering visitors a tangible connection to the area's past.

Today Grapetown is a quiet rural spot rather than a true destination. Visitors who make the drive can look for the historic marker and take in the creek-side setting, but there are no developed facilities or visitor services to speak of.
