About Gebo
Gebo is a ghost town in Hot Springs County, Wyoming, roughly 11 miles north of the county seat of Thermopolis. Its identity was built around coal, and like many single-industry communities, it faded when that economic foundation gave out.
Visitors today will find the remnants of a former working town set against the wide Wyoming landscape. Given how sparsely documented the site is, expect a quiet, austere experience rather than an elaborate historic district — scattered structural remains and open terrain are the realistic draw for those curious about the region's industrial past.
