About Fleetwood
Fleetwood is a ghost town in Lake County, Oregon, where an unincorporated community once stood but no structures remain today. Homesteaders began arriving around 1905, and the settlement grew enough to support a post office by 1913. Within a decade, a severe drought depleted surface water and dropped the water table across the area, sending the population into steep decline. The site now sits entirely empty, with no surviving buildings at the townsite.
Visitors coming to Fleetwood will find open land rather than any standing remnants — this is strictly a landscape stop for those interested in Oregon's early settlement history. The site lies roughly 10 miles from the nearest town, so plan accordingly with fuel and water before heading out.
