About Delagua
Delagua is a ghost town in Las Animas County, Colorado, located roughly five miles south of Aguilar. Once a coal-mining settlement operated by the Victor-American Fuel Company, it functioned as a company-owned town built around that single industrial purpose.
Visitors today encounter a largely vanished community. Little infrastructure remains, and the site rewards those drawn to the quiet atmosphere of Colorado's coal-country past rather than dramatic standing ruins. Access is straightforward given its proximity to Aguilar, making it a manageable stop for anyone passing through the region.
