About Bridal Veil

Bridal Veil is a ghost town in Multnomah County, Oregon, situated near the western end of the Columbia River Gorge. Its origins trace to the 1880s logging boom, when a company established a mill town centered on a sawmill to support timber harvesting on nearby Larch Mountain. For roughly the first half-century of its existence, Bridal Veil maintained a close connection with the neighboring logging town of Palmer.

Today almost nothing of the original settlement survives. As of November 2011, a post office and a cemetery are all that physically remain, making this one of Oregon's quieter ghost town stops — more a moment of reflection than an in-depth exploration. Visitors drawn to the site will find a modest but genuine piece of the region's industrial past embedded in the gorge landscape.
