About Booger Hollow
Booger Hollow is a former tourist stop in Pope County, Arkansas, built around a trading post that opened in 1961. Its most recognizable feature was a roadside sign claiming a population of seven — with the footnote "countin' one coon dog" — a bit of self-aware humor that set the tone for everything inside.
The trading post leaned into its hillbilly identity, selling novelty souvenirs alongside practical local goods like lye-soap, honey, and sorghum. An attached eatery, the Boogerhollow Chuckwagon Cafe, served simple food under playful menu names — the "boogerburger" and "boogerdog" among them.
Today Booger Hollow is considered a ghost town, and visitors should expect little more than the remnants of that roadside character. There are no documented structures confirmed standing, and the site is best approached as a piece of Arkansas roadside history rather than an active destination.
