Beaver Mills

Beaver Mills, also known by its former post office name Beaver Meadow, is a ghost town in Mobile County, Alabama, situated near U.S. Route 45 south of Citronelle. Its origins center on a paper mill that operated at the site, which took on additional significance during the Civil War when it served as a uniform depot.

A post office ran under the Beaver Meadow name from 1890 to 1906, offering a rough sense of when the community had enough of a presence to warrant one. Today the settlement is effectively gone, and visitors should expect little in the way of standing structures or formal amenities — this is a quiet, rural corner of south Alabama rather than a developed heritage site.

Access via nearby U.S. Route 45 is straightforward, but anyone making the trip should go in with modest expectations.
