About Arapahoe
Arapahoe holds the distinction of being among Colorado's earliest settlements, predating the state itself. Today, however, nothing physical survives of the community — no structures, foundations, or ruins remain at the site in Jefferson County, situated between Golden and Wheat Ridge along 44th Avenue.
Visitors will find only a historical marker on the south side of 44th Avenue, making this a brief roadside stop rather than an explorable destination. If you have an interest in Colorado's earliest history, the marker offers a small but tangible connection to that era.
