Lake Mendota is one of Wisconsin's most studied and popular urban fisheries, located adjacent to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. It offers excellent walleye, largemouth bass, and northern pike fishing, with ice fishing being a major draw in winter. Anglers access the lake from multiple public boat launches and shoreline parks.
