About this water

The tailwaters below Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River offer excellent trout fishing, one of the few cold-water trout fisheries in Georgia. The cold, oxygen-rich water released from the bottom of Lake Lanier supports a year-round trout population. Anglers typically use spinners, PowerBait, and small streamers.
