About this water

The Connecticut River below the Holyoke Dam is a productive tailwater fishery offering excellent fishing for American shad during the spring run, as well as striped bass and smallmouth bass. The Holyoke Heritage State Park area provides shore access and is a well-known gathering spot for shad anglers during the May-June migration. Striped bass fishing can be excellent in summer below the dam.
