The south loop (opening in late June, 2025) contains six equestrian-themed campsites, though they are available for use by any visitor on a first-come, first-served basis. Potable water is available by hand pump in the north loop. Recreation opportunities in the area include fishing; hunting; hiking, motorcycle riding, horseback riding, and mountain biking on the adjacent Council Mountain Trail (no. 198), extended to the campground in 2024; OHV riding, including on the Bear Gap ATV Trail (no. 209, up to 50? width, open to motorized use May 15 through Sept. 30), located to the southeast of the campground. Several other motorized and non-motorized trails are available along Middle Fork Weiser River Road. Typical season of campground operation is May 15 through November 4.
