Capulin Volcano Picnic Area

Enjoy a picnic at Capulin Volcano! With 10 shaded picnic tables to choose from with a lovely view of the volcano, this is a perfect spot to stop for lunch. <br /> <br /> Accessible seasonal restrooms and drinking water are located in the center of the picnic area for your convenience.<br /> <br /> If you would like to hike across some of the hardened lava flows that erupted from Capulin Volcano, two unpaved trails leave from the picnic area. The Lava Flow Trail is a one mile loop that crosses two of the four lava flows that Capulin Volcano produced. The Boca Trail is a two mile loop that goes past two collapsed lava tubes and other lava features.
